Tera Lancer Build Guide

Want the best Tera Lancer Build Guide? Well, if you are looking for a good guide to show you how to properly build your character, you have come to the right place. My name is Stephanie Lee and I have been playing and addicted to Tera online ever since it was released in Korea. I consider myself a pretty good Tera player and since its North American release, I have even devoted literally hundreds of hours researching the best skill, glyph and crystals builds that work the best for certain situations.

Below, I have outlined some viable skill builds and glyph builds for the Lancer that I have found to have worked quite well. Keep in mind that this guide only covers a small aspect of the Lancer. If you want a full Lancer guide to show you the perfect builds and how to completely max out your character in every way, I highly recommend the Argon's Guide.

The Lancer in Tera Online offers a wide variety of skills that you will be able to unlock as you progress throughout the game, but you are only able to use a handful of them at one time. So, knowing which skills and glyph to use is very important if you want to be able to dominate certain situations within the Tera realm. The build that I will be exposing to you today is a support/tank inspired build that I have developed after countless hours of research. I will show you the skills that I chose plus a couple of glyphs that you can use to compliment that particular skill with the pros and cons of each. Keep in mind that the skill build I created was designed around my own play style. Feel free to change or add new skills according to your liking.

Challenging Shout is the first skill that you will be able to unlock at level 18 to pull aggro off of your teammates. When activated, Challenge Shout will be able to draw the attention of nearby enemies as well as pull some aggro. It cost 300 mana to cast and has a cool down of 10 seconds.

Glyph of Threat: This glyph allows you to pull an additional 20% aggro from surrounding enemies. An important glyph to consider when your teammates are not tanky.

Glyph of Blaze: This glyph enables you to increase the casting time of Challenge Shout by 25%. Good for pulling aggro off of your teammates in clutch situations.

Menacing Wave is a good CC skill that you will have to provide lots of utility for you team. When activated, it will blast a wave that will reduce the movement and attack speed of nearby enemies within a 7 meter radius for 5 seconds. Menacing Wave costs 300 mana to cast and has a cool down of 30 seconds.

Glyph of Lingering: This glyph increases the duration of the reduction in the enemies movement and attack speed from 5 seconds to approx 8 seconds. It is always a good idea to get as much CC as possible so this glyph should be considered.

Glyph of Brilliance : This glyph decreases the mana consumption of Menacing Wave by 60. Although it might not seem like a lot, this will definitely help you to spam your other skills if you have the right crystals.

Lockdown Blow is another great CC skill that you will be able to unlock at end game. When activated, you will be able to deliver a crippling attack with decent damage to a single target and decrease their movement speed. It cost 200 mana to cast and has a cool down of 15 seconds.

Glyph of Threat: This glyph allows you to pull an additional 50% aggro from enemies nearby. Again, an important glyph to get if you are rather tanky and your teammates are not.

Glyph of Resolution: This glyph will decrease the movement speed of the enemy further by 30%. A good glyph to consider if you want to further increase your team's overall CC affects in the battlefield.

Infuriate is a very good support skill that will allow you to save your teammates that are taking unnecessary damage. When activated, this skill allows you to infuriate all nearby enemies and it maxes out your aggro. It does not cost any mana to cast, however has a long cool down of 300 seconds.

Glyph of Energy: This glyph decreases the cool down reduction time of Infuriate by 20%. Since the cool down is an outrageous 300 seconds, having 20% cool down is worth your while.

Glyph of Numbing: This glyph will allow you to decrease the movement speed of your opponents by 50% for 5 seconds. A great glyph to add further CC to your party to increase survivability.

Pledge of Protection is one of the best support skills that you will be able to unlock throughout your Lancer's career. When activated, you will be able to absorb all the damage that is being done to another group member. However, your current defense will determine how much damage you will be able to take. It costs 300 mana to cast and has a cool down of 60 seconds.

Glyph of Energy: This glyph reductions the cool down time of Pledge of Protection by 20%. Since, this skill is important to increase your team's sustainability on the battlefield, you will want to spam this skill as often as you can.

Glyph of Salvation: This glyph will increase your HP regeneration effects by 20% for 20 seconds. Very important glyph to use when absorbing damage from heavy mobs or BAM's.

Having the right crystal build for your Lancer in Tera is just as important as the right skills and glyphs. Below, I have outlined the crystals that I find to be the most effective for your weapon and armour in tanking situations.

WEAPON Threatening- Gives a flat percent threat bonus

Swift- Gives your character extra movement speed while in combat

Savage- When attacking mobs from the back, you will get bonus crit damage

Forceful- Gives strength buff on back critical

Slaying- Gives critical multiplier when you are below 50% HP

Carving- Increases your critical hit chance by x percent.

ARMOUR

Resolute- Reduces damage taken when you are below 50% HP

Warding- Receive 50% chance of shielding when knocked down

Relentless- Increases your maximum HP by X amount

Anarchic- Reduces damage taken from BAM monsters by X amount

Stalwart- Reduces damage taken from normal monsters by x amount

The builds above for the Tera Lancer should be used as a guideline. The reason I say this is because these builds are targeted towards my own personal preference, play style and of course builds are never set in stone. Builds for your Lancer will always change depending on the situation/scenario you are in and also differs depending on factors such as your own play style, equipment and hot keys. However, there is a way to know exactly what is the best build to use in every situation as an Lancer.
